Canggu New Year's Eve 2026: What to Book, and When

Where should you stay in Canggu for New Year's Eve 2026? Either within walking distance of the party you paid for, or somewhere quiet enough that midnight is optional. Everything in between is a taxi queue at 12:40am.

That is the whole strategy. The rest of this guide is detail: what the two big Berawa events cost, why traffic on 31 December behaves like its own weather system, and when to lock in a villa for a group of six.

A word on timing. It is mid-October. FINNS has already moved to its second ticket release, and several clubs are still sitting on unannounced line-ups. The window where you get a choice, not just whatever is left, is open now. It will not be open in November.

What is actually happening in Canggu on 31 December 2026?

Two events own the Berawa strip. FINNS Beach Club runs a two-day festival on 30 and 31 December, with doors at 2pm and a 2am close. The billing includes multiple pools, 11 bars, fireworks and a drone show. Major Lazer and CYRIL headline the 30th. DJ Gordo and The Temper Trap (as a DJ set) take New Year's Eve. FINNS is 18+.

Atlas Beach Fest is the louder, younger option. Quavo is the New Year's Eve headliner, gates open at 1pm, there is a midnight fireworks display on the bill, and entry is 16+. Smaller options include Old Mans, Motel Mexicola and the late-night Sandbar. La Brisa and Luna Beach Club (inside Nuanu, north of Canggu) had not published prices or full line-ups when we checked.

Programmes change in the weeks before the night. Check each venue's own listing before you pay anyone.

How much do Canggu New Year's Eve tickets cost?

Prices below are what the event guides listed in September and October 2026. Treat them as a floor, because each release is dearer than the last.

  • FINNS general admission: IDR 3,600,000 per person on the second release, against a listed standard value of IDR 6,000,000. It covers both festival days.

  • FINNS VIP: IDR 10,000,000 per person, with priority entry, table service and rooftop access. Private beds and booths cost extra.

  • Atlas Beach Fest general admission: from IDR 1,500,000 at early-bird pricing. Daybed packages put 70% of the payment toward food and drink credit.

  • Luna Beach Club: last year it was free before 7pm and IDR 250,000 after. The 2026 details are still to be announced.

Do the maths for six people at FINNS and the ticket line alone passes IDR 21 million before a single drink. Which is the argument for deciding early, and for deciding whether you actually want the full two days.

Fireworks over FINNS Beach Club in Berawa, Canggu, Bali during a New Year's Eve festival

Why does Berawa traffic matter more than the line-up?

Bali has no single official, island-wide New Year's Eve fireworks display. Fireworks belong to individual venues, so everyone converges on the same few kilometres of coast. Berawa and the streets around it are consistently named among the most congested parts of the island on 31 December. Taxis and ride-hailing still run, but pick-up points near nightlife get restricted, and surge pricing and long waits are normal.

Batu Bolong and Berawa beach are the usual free vantage points. They are also where the midnight crowd is densest. If you go, go early and know your exit.

The best New Year's Eve in Canggu is the one you can leave. Evarah Collection, Padonan

Here is our honest position. Padonan is not walking distance from FINNS. It is 17 minutes to Berawa beach and 45 minutes from the airport. That is the point. We sit just far enough out that you can dip into the noise and then leave it. The plan that works: pre-book a driver for both legs, go in before sunset, and be back in your own pool while the road clears.

A workable timeline for a group of six: a long lunch at the villa, a driver at 4pm, through the gates while the sun is still up, and the return pick-up booked for 12:30am rather than 1:30am. Drivers booked in advance know the night and the route. The ones you flag down at 12:45am set their own price.

Is a private villa better than a hotel for New Year's Eve in Canggu?

For a group of six, usually yes, and not for the reason you think. It is not the pool. It is the hours either side of the party. A kitchen means a proper dinner at 6pm instead of a queue for one. A private pool means the 1am wind-down needs no dress code. And nobody has to share a lift with a stranger who has lost their shoes.

Both Evarah villas sleep six across three bedrooms, with a private pool, an outdoor bar, daily housekeeping, a concierge, Wi-Fi, a projector and AC. The difference is the mood, and you can pick yours:

  • Villa Zoya: Mediterranean warmth, a double-height living room and a kitchen island that seats eight. Best for the group that wants dinner together first.

  • Nomad House: brutalist concrete, big glass and jungle planting. Best for the group that cares how the photos look.

What about Christmas, and what will the weather do?

Christmas Day in Canggu is the quiet before the 31st. Most of the island's energy is saved for New Year's Eve, which makes the 25th a good day for a long lunch at home and a swim.

On weather, BMKG, Indonesia's meteorology agency, said on 22 September that the 2026/27 rainy season will start late. For Bali, first rains are expected in late November in some areas and in December for most of the island, with peak rainfall in January. Read our breakdown of the late rainy season for the detail. These are probabilities, not guarantees. A dry spell also means more dust and the occasional hazy day, so do not book on the promise of blue skies alone.

Canggu New Year's Eve 2026: your questions answered

Where is the best place to stay in Canggu for New Year's Eve?

If your priority is walking to FINNS or Atlas, stay in Berawa. If you want a quiet base with a private pool and a short drive to the action, Padonan works. Evarah Collection's Villa Zoya and Nomad House are in Padonan, 17 minutes from Berawa beach.

How much does FINNS Beach Club New Year's Eve cost in 2026?

General admission was IDR 3,600,000 per person on the second release, against a listed standard value of IDR 6,000,000, covering 30 and 31 December. VIP is listed at IDR 10,000,000. Check FINNS directly for the current price.

Are there fireworks in Canggu on New Year's Eve?

There is no official island-wide display. Venues run their own, and both FINNS and Atlas Beach Fest advertise midnight shows, so confirm with each one. Batu Bolong and Berawa beach are the usual free vantage points and get crowded.

How far in advance should I book a villa in Bali for New Year's Eve?

As soon as your dates are fixed. FINNS tickets typically sell out months ahead, and every guide we checked says to book accommodation and transfers early. For a villa that sleeps six, mid-October is not early.
